To satisfy an operational demand at Post Office counters, Royal Mail has produced two new definitive NVI stamps which combine the Recorded Signed For fee (currently 75p) with 1st class basic (39p) and 1st class Large (61p) postage rates.

Cylinder
blocks showing the Cylinder numbers against the penultimate row and the positional grid on the last row. Enlargement showig security slit with 'nick' at top and bottom, suggesting Type IIa. The stamps also have a security overprint but with no hidden codes, ie the same as the sheet stamps issued in February 2009. |

The new definitive stamps will be printed by De La Rue in gravure. The Large Letter stamp is 33 x 24mm and the basic letter stamp is 24mm x 24mm, ie 4mm wider than the basic stamps in both cases.
