Royal Mail will issue a new retail book in early summer containing two flower stamps originally issued in the 1997 Greetings Booklet, and 4 x 1st class gold Machin defnitives. All stamps in the retail book will be self-adhesive, the definitives will have security slits and all will be on paper which is not designed to be soaked from paper. The image below now shows the actual booklet. Distribution of Cylinder booklets in supplies is quite impossible to predict. Our first pack of 50 had no cylinders; others report finding 950 cylinders in a box of 1000 booklets.
In response to several emails we can confirm that the official date of issue is 21 May, but distribution from Royal Mail's Tallents House Philatelic Bureau will be later and some have been told that the booklets will be issued on 16th June.

Royal Mail will not regard this as a new issue, so there will not be an official first day cover or First Day of Issue postmarks.
Technical
details:
The booklets are printed by Walsall Security Print in gravure, and the
stamps are self-adhesive.
All images
are Royal Mail Copyright 2009.
We will produce a small number of covers for this booklet
Special
Postmarks
Special postmarks available for the day of issue are shown
here. These may
not be to scale .
