The second set of Smilers for Kids packs will be issued on 30 April, consisting of a sheet of 10 stamps and corresponding round labels, sold in a pack with other material designed to appeal to youngsters or their parents or grandparents.
These four packs continue from the 2008 set and show more popular children's characters: Beatrix Potter's Jeremy Fisher, Wild Cherry from Flower Fairies books by Cicely Mary Barker, Little Miss Sunshine, and Big Ears. The Jeremy Fisher sheet consists of 'Hello' stamps with seven different images of Jeremy Fisher on adjoining labels (three of which are repeated). The Flower Fairies sheet consists of 'Flower' (Gazania) stamps with two images of Wild Cherry on the labels. The Little Miss and Noddy (Big Ears) sheets utilise 'Balloons' stamps, having 10 and 4 different labels respectively.
As was the case last year, collectors sheets of 20 will also be issued. Whilst the backgrounds are different to the sheets of 10, the label format is duplicated, thus the Big Ears sheet has 4 different labels.

The Royal Mail Stamps for Kids
packs will be sold for £7.95 each. Because they are sold at a
premium over face value we predict that they will not be listed in most
stamp catalogues.
The stamp sheets are
printed -
as are other Smilers sheets - in litho by Cartor Security Printing. The
sheets of 10 are A5 size, 149 x 210mm; the sheet of 20 are A4 size, 210
x 297mm.
Pack details:
All packs have been designed by Magpie Studios, with the backing and
title sheet printed by St Ives plc.
