250th Anniversary of the British Museum - 7 October 2003

Royal Mail commemorates the 250th Anniversary of the death of Hans Sloane who bequeathed a collection of antiquities to the nation, which led to the founding of The British Museum.

The stamps were designed by Rose Design from photography by Graeme Montgomery.

Royal Mail have produced a Presentation Pack and postcards showing the stamps (PHQ cards). Another set of cards, A5 in size, has been produced for sale by Royal Mail and at the British Museum.


Technical details:
The stamps are printed in gravure by Walsall Security Print Ltd, perf 14 x 15.
